Just got another 2 for work. I now log into all my machines using 2-step authentication.
I type my known password then press conf.2 for the static password.. boom.. logged in.

Does this work on any service using the legacy 64 char? or do apps/sites have to be compatible?

this works with everything.. it’s basically just a USB keyboard with a fancy math chip installed.
If you want to use it for your apps you must have something to authenticate against, wordpress has a yubikey support, as does lastpass and a few other services. But you can use it for your own 2-step authorization (something you know/something you have) without ANY extra apps/sites.
